Duncan Wiley- The president calling
JFK persuades Barnett. In each of these recordings JFK
doesn't strike me as a politician. he is immediately down to business
and what needs to get done. He takes control of the phone call and
persuades Barnett to do what he wants. JFK doesn't accept any of Ross
Barnett's excuses and makes sure that Barnett knows what he needs and
then makes sure that Barnett is capable and willing to help him. He was a good president because he took charge and did what needed to get done and that shows in this recording. JFK was
clearly respected by his peers because of this.
