Monday, 4/18

We started class today by getting back our practice APUSH exams and grouped the questions into different eras and looked at which periods of time we need to study the most. We also got our scores for our DBQ and looked at those. After we were done looking at our exams, we took notes on WW1 and the Treaty of Versailles, and what makes it different from WW2.

Hello Everybody! Today was a very informative day. The class started off with the class getting questions answered about the fakebook assignment dealing with presidents due THIS Friday. Soon after we jumped into our lesson about World War one(WWI). We used a memory device called MAIN to remember the causes of WWI. M-militarism A- alliance I- imperialism N- nationalism. WWI began with the assassination of a monarch in Europe. We continued to go into depth about two main boat sinks. One boat was the Lusitania that resulted in about 20 U.S. citizens dieing and the other boat was Sussex that was torpedo and resulted in a pledge between Germany and the U.S. The last minutes of APUSH were spent talking about different components to starting WWI such as the Zimmerman telegraph.
Peace!

Reviewing for Monday 4/18/11

This post included what discussions we had that day. It also mentioned what we took notes on that day. It could've been more specific about the "which periods of time we need to study the most."

The 5 things were 1)unrestricted submarine warfare 2)Hostility toward Germany/Germans 3)American economic interests 4)American security 5)American Idealism 6)Allied Propaganda. Happy Good Friday and Earth Day everyone! Unfortunately, Mrs. McCarron wasn't in class today. Instead of our usual note-taking day, we worked on a worksheet about creating a thesis and introductory paragraph for our new essay, "the Causes of United State's Involvement in World War I".

After working for about 15 minutes, we watched a continuation of a video on the New York Stock Market, the fabulously wealthy men in the 2nd half of the 19th century, and the many things that stocks can do. There were questions to answer while watching the video. However, we didn't get to finish watching it.

Don't forget, THE FAKEBOOK PROJECT IS DUE ON MONDAY, APRIL 25, 2011. Also don't forget to study for THE APUSH EXAM (which is in 2 WEEKS). Have a great weekend!

Ryan did a good job for the Thursday blog. In the notes we also talked about the Treaty of Versailles and the League of Nations. The reminder at the end about the Fakebook was very helpful.

Review for Friday 4/22/11
Klarizza did a great job for blogging friday. She went over everything we did with good detail. She also reminded us of important dates including the fakebook project and the APUSH exam which was extremely helpful. Finally she did it all with character, using excellent grammar and exclamations.
