Tuesday, 2/16 M. White, 2nd "1850s: An Era of Discord" Today, we began by presenting the extra credit historical valantines to the class. We then talked about the components that contributed to the Civil War and disunion (ie. expansion)-power point. We didn't get any handouts. The Unit 6 test has been moved to either Wednesday or Thursday of next week (2/24 or 2/25)and our IDQ #17 will be moved to THIS FRIDAY, 2/19.
Today we had off due to teacher planning day/Presidents day. We had no homework over the weekend but IDQ #17 is on friday, 2/19. Enjoy your 3 day weekend.
Today we wrapped up talking about the "1850s: An Era of Discord." We started the class by talking about events/people that contributed to the civil war. We then elaborated more on certain events and the free soilers party along with the Lincoln-Douglas debates. Ms. McCarron also talked a bit about Lincoln's bad/good reputation and history.
Reminder: The IDQ #17 quiz is on friday and the Unit 6 test has been pushed to either tuesday or wednesday which is when the summary sheets, timeline and notebooks will be collected.
Good job Megan and Basil on the recap of what happened in class. You both did a really nice job of addressing the main points of class. Also good reminder about the upcoming quiz and unit test.
Thursday, 2/18 L. Smith, 2nd Review good job at blogging, everyone. Don't forget our terms test tomorrow, and our test review is dues the day of the test next week. Hope everyone had good prog reports!

Today we had a lecture about the beginning of the civil war, starting with Lincoln's election. Then we talked about the secession of states that formed the Confederacy. Remember tomorrow is the terms quiz for ID# 17.
Friday, 2/19 M. White, 2nd QUIZ Today, we took our IDQ #17 (over chapter 19)and turned in our terms notebook. Before Ms McCarron handed out the quiz, we did the identification exercise where we tried to come up with helpful ideas to relate people to the things they did (for the quiz). After the quiz, we read an essay and began answering questions about it, but the essay was a class copy so we couldn't finish it for homework. Remember that our unit 6 test (and review session) will be next week (date still TBA), along with summary sheets and timeline. No other hand-outs or updates.
Also, the 2nd AP Lang practice exam is tomorrow, 2/20 @ 1pm in the forum!!! good luck
Our unit 6 test will be either Wednesday or Thursday of this week. Summary sheets and timelines will be due. Though Ms. McCarron didn't mention it, the lecture notebooks could be due, so have it ready just in case. We'll have a review session on nicenet.com before the unit test.
