Today we discussed the Mexican War along with the Republic of Texas and Oregon Territory. Notes were taken for the most part, except for the occasional comment about the [lame] Super Bowl commercials from the night before.

Don't forget that Terms list 16 is due tomorrow (02/09) along with the quiz.

The projected Unit 7 test date is February 15.

Today was our quiz on terms #16, so if you were absent, be prepared for the make-up!
We had to pick up a piece of paper which had 3 documents on it, which we had to "Identify It, Verb It, and Explain It" for homework, so we can go over it in class tomorrow.

Great blog from Punshon on Feb.8. It reminded everyone about the terms list that was due today and what we discussed in class that day.

Reviewing K. Punshon on Feb. 9

Great job reminding those that were out that they have to make up that quiz. Also good reminder about the handout we got in class.

Today in class we discussed Henry Clay's compromise of 1850 and the tension between north and south and western expansion continued. Everyone make sure if you already have not already to finish the DBQ assignment that was given out after the quiz. We were supposed to work with it today but we didn't have time, but we probably will tomorrow!

Today in class we discussed the DBQ question, essentially doing some preplanning. We also recieved a hand out having to do with the DBQ and we're supposed to work on it tonight. In discussing the DBQ we focused on the Kansas Nebraska Act and how Kansas was a source of tension leading up to the 1850s.

Today we picked up the summary sheets for this unit for the unit test. However there is not a set date for the unit test yet. We also got a sheet that we are going to fill out using the documents we picked up after the notecard quiz on Tuesday. We also took some notes and sketched a political cartoon.

On Friday we worked on our DBQ's with a partner and in some cases, groups, ensuring that each group had both the gold and green DBQ handouts. We filled out the handouts, basically summarizing the documents, and turned them in at the end of class.
