David Kay 11/19/08 The first 20 minutes of classs were spent finishing the IMPORTANT Supreme Court cases and the reat of the time was spent discussing them with the class. Here are some of them: Fletcher V. Peck (1810) Protected the right of Contract and enabled the Supreme court to deem a state law unconstitutional. McColluch V. Maryland (1819)Bank of the U.S.A. cannot be taxed by states becuase it is a federal entity; Federal supremacy. Dartmouth V. Woodward (1819)Sanctity of Contract and federal supremacy over states. Gibbons V. Odgen (1824) State Law cannot conflict with national law TEST TOMORROW STUDY HARD There is an online review session from 7:30-9:ish.
Susan Hill 11/18/08 -Lectured about first 7 presidents and their cabinet. Also Judicial review (Marbury v. Mdison) -Court cases assigned to groups- read and typed on the keyboards
Susan Hill 11/20/08 Today we took our Unit 4 Test and then picked up 2 worksheets (both having to do with primary/secondary sources) the worksheet that is required to be filled out is due on Friday. Tomorrow we will be in the media center. Be prepared to bring your History Fair project materials!
David Kay 11/23/08 I meant to do this yeterday but my internet has been down since Friday and the internet guy just left... Remember that we have a quiz on Tuesday, on terms list #11. Also on Tuesday, we have a visual source (according to the lovely lavender) or a source that you have to do still due. If any one wants to use the media resources, the username is medias and the password is lhs.
