Today we picked up a map worksheet at the door and began working on it.
We followed the directions on the screen to pick up our assigned "clicker" and practiced using them by answering a few questions for potential use on quizzes/tests. After we finished, we took notes on the Conquistadors and the meaning of the word infrastructure. No assignments were due or collected. Unit Test 1 Friday, study!!

Colonies Founded
No assignments due today, but there was a new terms list to pick up at the door, colored blue.
Roanoke's foundation and the mysterious disapperance of its colonists, how the discovery of a Georgia Native American tribe with blue eyes supports the theory that they were adopted, not massacred.
The imbecilic colonists of The Virginia Company of London in the new colony of Jamestown were businessmen who expected the Natives to do all the work and find the gold so Britian could become rich like Spain did.
France sent out coureurs de bois to Quebec, the first French settlement. They had good relations with Indians as they trapped beaver, married Indian women and lived in Indian villages.
Netherland and Swedan also set up small colonies, but they were not for the family setting- 8:1 tavern to church ratio, mainly just "gas stations" to other colonies.
Remember that there is an online review tomorrow at 7:00 pm at Nicenet.org, the password is HZ27509Q60 and the big review sheet and timeline are due Friday (I think, and really, really hope) and the Unit Test 1 is Friday as well.

Today the timeline, summary sheets, and our lecture notebooks were due at the beginning of class. We then took the Unit 2 Test for the majority of the class period. Afterwards we had a pick-up of a sample DBQ that we are supposed to read twice and cicle/highlight/underline specific things. Then we are supposed to grade the essay based on a 9 point scale.
Terms list #6 is due Tuesday, 10/7 with the corresponding test on that date.
