Kirsten Brown
Today, we regrouped with our Union groups. Mrs. McCarron handed us print outs of the summaries we made on Friday, in our groups, about our unions. Each group then got up and presented to the class so that everyone else could complete the stick-man figures divided up over one clean left and one clean right in our notebooks.
Don't forget the quiz on CH 20 tomorrow. There were no terms, only reading.

Kirsten Brown
Today, we took the CH 20 quiz. Luxi, Rachel, and I were the "control" group: we took the quiz individually, without the book, and with the clickers. Everyone else was placed in groups of 3, with the book, and scratch-out answer sheets. This was part of a grant from FSU that Mrs.McCarron is participating in.
Be prepared for notes tomorrow.
Wednesday, 2/23/11
Emily Phelan
Today Mr. Rice gave us a DBQ on success of organized labor. We had to write our own thesis sentence and question. We also, had to annotate the sources. Ms. McCarron was not in our class, she was in Ms. Oliver’s class.
We got our terms notebook back but not a terms list.
Thursday, 2/24/11

Today Ms. McCarron lectured on the four major strikes: the Pullman, Homestead, Haymarket and the 1877 strike.
In the last fifteen minutes of class we got into our quiz groups and put together a scrambled essay that went with the DBQ that we received yesterday. Each member of the group is supposed to read the entire essay and put it together how they think it should.

Happy Friday everyone!
Today in class we got an assignment about immigration in the late nineteenth century out of one of the American History workbooks that Ms. mcCarron had. At the end of class Mr. Rice also lectured some about immigration.
We haven't gotten a terms list since Ms. McCarron was out today so it looks like we have the weekend off!

Hey guys! I hope everyone had a good weekend and a great start to the new week! We still haven't been assigned any terms to do so we can continue to relax for a little while. Try to get your homework from other classes out of the way so that when we are assigned terms, you have time to do them!
