Today we were supposed to have finished the DBQ assingment. We were supposed to L.I.E. and then fill out the graphic organizer on the letter by Martin Luther King, Jr.. In class we L.I.E.d on the cartoon that included a black man attempting to become a part of the medical society. The caption at the top said "Sorry, But You Have an Incurable Skin Condition." In class we also discussed the Brown vs. Board of Education(1954). It was fist won by Brown but was turned over in an appeals court and finally was switched back to Brown by the Supreme court. The case started because little Linda Brown had to pass a "white" Elementary on her way to her Elementary. We also discussed that the Original Jurisdiction was the first jurisdiction done by a jury, while the Appellate Jurisdiction is the decision in the appeals court.
