Michael Hoffman Period 2 12/7/09 Today we got our bibliographies and we found out how much we suck at doing them but Ms Mccarron showed us everthing we did wrong and what we need to change so we can fix them. Then we went over the O GRAB ME!! political cartoon but appearently its just embargo spelled backwards and they represented it as a turtle...?
Yes, Mr. Hoffman, I concur. However, also, for History fair, our DBQ is due on Monday which contains a formal DBQ setup with question, documents, and rubric (as well as background information) and a sample essay next Monday, December 17th. Don't put this one off!!! I got more sources at the Leon County Public Library today, there is a lot to choose from there. The Lincoln library has been closed a lot this week, so don't rely on that to get you through on Friday! Good luck people, and remember, historyrules!
Good job Michael, loved the humor, it's a nice touch. Just remember everyone that terms are do tomorrow (12/10), and then the dreaded DBQ project is due Monday (12/14)
Well no one blogged today or yesterday and im supposed to be reviewing... so i suppose ill just fill in for today. Okay so today we took a terms quiz, i think i actually did pretty good, and i laughed when i saw people highlighting on the way to class - thats just skill. Anyways, we also wrote an essay AP test style, horray for learning how incompetent we are! *highfive!* anyone who is missing an essay needs to make it up TOMORROW or u get a zero. Monday DBQ is due, dont wait till sunday night @ 10 kay? just say no and be good children.
Shelby Grossman Period 2 12/11/09 Today in class we went over a DBQ for the era of good feelings document packet we got earlier this week. We discussed as a class what we would give it for a grade on the AP 0-9 scale. We were also looking at this because we all have a rubric due on monday with the rest of our DBQ project. Just a reminder: many important papers we need for our project our linked on Mrs. McCarron's website and they are typable, therefore very helpful.
DUE MONDAY: DBQ QUESTION WITH 12-15 DOCUMENTS INCLUDING THE SOURCE CITATIONS
DOCUMENT INFORMATION SHEET
A SAMPLE ESSAY ANSWER (MUST BE GOOD!)
AN ESSAY RUBRIC
ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY (REMEMBER APPROPRIATE TITLE FOR YOUR FORMAT!!
Happy Hanukkah and I'll see you Monday (after an exhausting APUSH filled weekend ;))!
Today in class we looked closely at the "Era of Good Feelings" DBQ. We used a fancy-shmancy touch pad to circle the important words in the essay prompt. Then we graded a sample essay on an AP scale of 0-9 as well as somebody from another class's essay on the same scale. Homework over the weekend is to do our DBQ Question, Info sheet, rubric, etc. See the APUSH website to find these links.
Shelby Grossman Period 2 12/13/09 Today is Sunday and our DBQ projects are due tomorrow!! Good luck to everyone and remember: bibliography-separate primary and secondary, have sources listed alphabetically
rubric
document info sheet
sample essay
documents printed and in chronological order set up like a normal DBQ. directions and prompt at the top!
Despite the fact that you are all probably going to stay up late tonight to finish this, I will still remind you, just incase. Our DBQ projects are due tomorrow. Make sure that you have:
1.)Documents presented like an actual DBQ with the question and directions at the top
2.)Sample Answer
3.)Essay Rubric
4.)Information Sheet
5.)Annotated Bibliography (makes sure you seperate primary and secondary)
Other than that, it should have been a great and laid-back weekend.
