Today in class we took our Terms List Quiz 9 on Chapter 8. The quiz was okay but had a lot of little glitches. Ms. McCarron collected or terms notebooks as well. After the quiz we went over how to do annotated bibliographies. She said that it was okay to use MLA format but not of her preference.
There is no school tomorrow because of Veterans Day! BUT remember that we have the DBQ due on Thursday morning and a Primary Source for History Fair due too. In Lang Black Boy Journal 1 is due Thursday too! Lots due! Don't forget!!!!
Kaitlin Ward Wensday, November 11,2009 Today we didn't have school today which was pretty awesome! But, tomorrow we have alot of stuff due. Stevenson is just a superb expert at blogging. She mentions our terms quiz and our bibliography talk thing. To add we also got our terms lsit for the next 3 chapters.
I would have to say that our class is lucky to have such excellent bloggers this week. Nice work Sami at reminding us about our DBQ more than once because it is quite important and easy to forget on a Wednesday that we have off from school. Both bloggers also did a good job keeping the class updated on lang as well, that was very helpful. And finally, nice job emphasizing the fact that we needed a hardcopy to bring to class. I think that was a common mistake among all APUSH students...but not 2nd period. (And nice review Hoffman)
Kaitlin Ward Thursday November 12, 2009 Well today we talked alot about our bibs. We turned in our source sheet and we are going to hold on to our essay til tmrw. We picked up our new terms list today also. She also explained to us how the next to IDQ scores are going to be the scores for your notebooks. So for example if you get a 50 on your IDQ, you get a 50 for your notebook grade! It stinks so be sure to study hard!!
Good job Kaitlin for reminding everyone about the new system for terms quizes and notebooks. Sami, nice level of enthusiasm in your posts. Good job bloggers, you've been very diligent in mentioning every single thing we've done in class!
Sunday, November 15 Lily Smith, Period 2 Don't forget to work on terms list #10, "The Transformation of American society, 1815-1840" and "Democratic Politics, Religion Revival, & Reform, 1824-1840"
the 23 terms and 8 graphics are due Tuesday, 11/17/09
Mrs. McCarron was out yesterday (Friday) for a conference, and we recieved the "Party Men!" assignment, the "Critical Period" essay, and instructions for an in-class assignment of reading a few passages in a set of books kept in the classroom.
the "Party Men" were to be drawn an a clean left and right of our notebooks, and they were to be 2 different figures illustrated to represent aspects of Jeffersionian Democracy, and Federalism.
What can I say? All of the bloggers this week have done an exquisite job covering all of our in-class activities and our homework assignments. We'll have to see if next week's bloggers can keep up the good work.
Another source sheet for our DBQ History Fair project was due today. We also talked about how to use Noodletools and the differences between various types of annotations. We were supposed to bring in a copy of the DBQ essays we had written, however, we did not turn them in today.
Today we had a substitute and were given three assignments, one of them being the "Party Men" worksheet, the "Critical Period" essay and an assignment in which we were supposed to answer some questions after reading a few pages in our history books.
