Monday November 30, 2009:

Today in class we spent a majority of the period talking about our History Fair Bibliographies. The major points covered were that you have the correct formatting and make sure it is seperated by primary and secondary sources.
After that, we continued our nots on the Peddler's Cross.

*There was no specific homework, but make sure you get History Fair and Terms list 12 done!

Allie did a great job summaizing APUSH Monday. One thing that needs to be added is that an annotated bibliography/works consulted was assigned for homework. We turned this in Tuesday during class. The specifics we took notes on from the Peddler's Cross incuded Washington's farewell address (see map: txt pg. 429) and Hamilton's Economic Plan (Tariff of 1789, Excise, and Tax Assumption)

Today, we spent about half of the class talking about our bibliographies and Mrs. McCarron answered questions we had on it. The rest of the period, we watched a movie about wall street and answered questions on it and will finish the movie tomorow. Our unit test was moved to next week so next week we will have a test and quiz. Also, it is unofficial but the due date for our DBQ may be pushed back.

In class today we started by discussing problems we had with our bibliographies. The main points were:
1.if you use MLA format, do not quadruple space inbetween sources
2.Title your bibliography "Works Consulted"
3.Do not use a heading (your name, class, date, etc.)
We also watched about 3/4 of a video about Wall Street, The Bank of the United States, and early american economics

Andrew is correct on the information for that MLA formatting should not have quadruple spaces. The page should be titled Annotated List of Works Consulted. Ms. McCarron just wants your name on your works consulted page. There is no need for the MLA heading.

Everyone has done a good overview with tuesday, but there were a few "nit-picky" things that may have fallen through the cracks:

-In a MLA bibliography, you need to separate primary and secondary sources a simple "Primary:" will do.

-use PERIODS, not commas

-make sure to include annotations

Today in class we started by finishing up our notes concering the peddler's cross and the foreign affairs of the 1790's. We also had a discussion about the very important alien and sedition acts along with the virginia and kentucky resolutions. We ended today discussing states powers and constitutional amendments.

We have the Blue ribbon assignment for History Fair due tomorrow, terms list #12 due on December 8th, and a Unit test sometime next week. We recieved review sheets for Unit 4 today. The History Fair DBQ will probably be due next next monday, Dec. 14

Review for Wednesday December 2

Andrew did well with the notes we took in class on the peddler's cross and foreign affairs. He was incorrect about the date of the ID terms #12 quiz. It will not be next Tuesday December 8th because the Unit Test 4 will be on December 8. The summary sheets will be due that day. The lecture notebooks will most likely be collected that day.

Today, we continued notes on the Antibellum era along with going over the Virginia and Kentucky resolutions in more depth along with states rights and what states did when they were unhappy with certain things such as the Tariff of Abominations (interposition, nullification, and sEccession). Lastly, we talked about the Federalists and their downfall (Hartford convention of 1814). Homework: work on DBQ and summary sheets...i think

Thursday's Review:
Cilek did a great job on Thursday's blog. The lesson was summarized very well. Thanks for reminding us about the summary sheets! There was little Enfinger could add, but he still gave an accurate, simplified overview. The only thing I would add would be the update for next week: Test, lecture notebook, and summary sheet (with timeline)due Tuesday, and Terms # 12 due Thursday.--DBQ has been most likely pushed back to the following Monday.

Cilek did a very thorough and detail blog on what we did on thursday. Great job on paying attention and telling exactly what Ms. McCarron lectured about. Enfinger did a shorter and more summarized blog of what we did on thursday. Also good extra comments to both Enfiner and Cilek on the football game.

Enfinger did a pretty good job on his blog. Very concise and to the point but it could have added that we talked about the Presidents i.e. Jefferson and Madison and the transfer of power from federalists to republicans.

Reminder: Homework for this week is summary sheets for Unit 4 and terms list #12
