We started out today by sitting in some festive seating; if you had a blue packet you sat on the window-side of the room, pink packet door-side.
Next we talked about what makes a sophisticated thesis (repeating the question USUALLY doesn't apply to the term sophisticated), and broke into our home groups (people with same number on documents as us, four in a group).
In the groups we began drafting a thesis to answer the question given from our documents (pink and blue have different questions). We worked on this, as well as analyzing the actually documents further until the end of class.
*REMINDER* out of sight out of mind! Just because our next set of terms aren't due for a while, doesn't mean they are due at all.....get a couple done this week!
Today we switched up the seating arrangement for the new nine weeks. Then we talked about the French and Indian War essay that we received last week. No new handouts were given to us. Make sure you complete and study terms list 8. There will be a quiz on terms list 8 tomorrow and notebooks are due.
Today we turned in our terms notebooks, and took a quiz on terms list 8. The quiz was taken electronically today. We had the option to first write down our answers and then put them in electronically. After the quiz we received documents that belonged to a DBQ. For homework you are to read the documents and come to class with an understanding of all the documents in your packet.
We did not recieve any handouts today. In class we discussed essay writing, and the documents we recieved in class yesterday. After the discussion we got in groups (Ms. McCarron assigned the groups for us) and wrote a thesis for our DBQ's. (Don't worry Ms. McCarron said we won't be writing the DBQ's yet.)We don't have any homework, except terms which are due 11/10.
Today we sat with our groups, although for the majority of class we had a lecture. After the lecture, we made metaphors for our DBQ's, I would reccomend getting with a group member, and copying down the metaphor, in addition to the lecture notes you missed. We didn't recieve any handouts in class today, and homework (in addition to terms) is the "Innovation In History Graphic Organizer" which you can find in your lovely lavender pack
For about fifteen minutes at the beginning of class we had a lecture about Greenville, Townshed, his acts, and we finally got to draw on our traced hands.
After the lecture we got with our numbered groups and brainstormed about a possible metaphor for the road to revolution (i.e. Ms. McCarron's is The Road to Revolution is like a garden), and that took up the rest of class.
If you missed today I would suggest getting in contact with one of your group members so you can help the brainstorming process.
*REMINDER* A History Fair sheet is due tomorrow, and it takes a while, so do it now (it looks like a chart).
There were a lot of people dressed up in fun costumes today for Halloween and Red Ribbon Week. We sat with our groups again, and worked on finishing our visual allegory. We will only have ten or fifteen minutes to finish it on Monday, so try to get it mostly finished before then. We also turned in our History Fair Graphic Organizer. Next is another source sheet, so make sure to get that done soon as well. Have a marvelous Halloween!
Some reminders for the upcoming week: ~on Monday we will have about 10 minutes to finish our visual allegory, so make sure it's mostly done ~there will be another history fair sheet due this week, so try to get a head start on it ~we should be getting our terms notebooks back this week, so be ready to start on your terms list (due 11/10)
It summed up the day pretty well, but you could have added that you should write on the document and make sure if she looks at it that she would be able to see that it was thoroughly read.

Good job with all those reminders, especially the one about the source sheet because people tend to forget about those until the day before it's due. Another reminder is that the football game against Chiles will be on Thursday instead of Friday.

Good Post! You could have added that she gave us some class time to finish reading the French and Indian War essay and that we filled out the chart on the back. Good reminder about the quiz.
